A Beacon of Inspiration and Optimism

Advancing the Legacy of “America’s Public Sculptor”
Little Village Detroit, The Shepard Gallery, Charles McGee Sculptures in the yard at The Shepard

Little Village, a new cultural corridor and art community near Detroit’s East Village, will soon be home to an exciting new addition to Detroit’s waterfront renaissance: Stanton Yards.

In conjunction with Stanton Yards and as part of our Spirit of Detroit Public Art Initiative, The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum is planning to open an Interactive Sculpture Studio.

It’s going to be something special.
And you’re invited to be part of it.

Your Help Will Create Real Impact

Supporting the Spirit of Detroit Sculpture Studio will help us enhance academic and creative outcomes for the community.

TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATION

We’ll partner with local schools and community centers to deliver dynamic learning experiences around STEM/STEAM and college prep, including opportunities to earn college credit.

INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS & ARTMAKING

Visitors will have a chance to learn about the creative process as they contribute to the creation of new public artworks to enhance neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces throughout Detroit.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Diverse groups can meet and work together at hands-on workshops and live artist demonstrations, building connections, sharing ideas and strengthening a sense of community.

Your chance to do the same.

Let’s talk about how you can help advance the Marshall Fredericks Legacy.same.
