Rent the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum for your Event.  It’s Magic!

The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum features a unique collection of more than two thousand works that span the 70-year career of Michigan-based sculptor Marshall M. Fredericks (1908-1998).  He is known nationally and internationally for his impressive monumental figurative sculpture, public memorials, fountains, portraits and medals.

 

The Museum’s Main Exhibit Gallery features a permanent exhibit of more than 200 works by Fredericks, including plaster models, sketches, site models, bronzes, portraits and wall reliefs. The Sculptor’s Studio features a collection of objects from Fredericks’s former studios in Royal Oak and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The Museum also offers two temporary exhibition galleries where the works of regional, national and international artists are shown; classroom; gift shop; and reception area.  An outdoor sculpture garden features a growing collection of 24 of his bronze sculptures on the beautifully landscaped campus of Saginaw Valley State University.

 

The Museum classroom is 1,400 square feet and has smart podium capabilities with internet.

Pricing

The Museum and classroom are available to be rented for meetings, tours, receptions and parties.  Rates vary according to commercial/private parties, non-profit organizations, or SVSU faculty, staff and alumni events; specific spaces in the Museum; number of guests; and duration of event. Rental fees will be assessed for the following event categories:

                                                                                      

Museum Event (Non-University Events: Non-Profit Organizations and Commercial/Private Parties)

There is a $600 rental fee for a one to four hour event. Additionally, there is a cost of $25/hr. per staff during an event. If an event goes more than four hours, the first 15 minutes is “free”.  There is an hourly rate of $125 rental fee and $25 per staff for time beyond the 15 minutes. A minimum of three staff is required for events.

Museum Classroom event (A-107)

Classroom rental costs are $75 for the first hour and $50 each additional hour. This does not include the museum or a museum tour. A guided museum tour is an additional $3 per person or $2 per senior.

University-Sponsored Activities/Events for which no registration fee is charged.
University-sponsored activities or events are coordinated by University members in conjunction with an outside organization.  Participants attending these events are University members, along with members of the external organization. Rental rates and service fees will be discounted 50% for conferences, workshops, meetings and camps and must be paid for by University funds.

Example: Dinner meeting with attendees who are University members and external community members for which no fee is charged.

Non-University Events : Non-Profit Organizations and Commercial/Private Parties
Non-profit organizations and commercial/private parties are charged full room rental rates and service fees in addition to charges for food, equipment, etc.

University-Sponsored Activities/Events for which a registration fee is charged.
Rental rates and service fees will be discounted 50% for conferences, workshops, meetings and camps arranged by faculty, staff or students for which a registration fee is charged.

SVSU Grant-Funded Events
Rental rates and service fees will be discounted 50% for SVSU conferences, workshops, meetings and camps that are funded by SVSU grant monies received by the University and scheduled by faculty, staff or students.

SVSU Alumni Events
Rental rates and service fees will be discounted 25% for SVSU alumni events.

Catering
University Conference and Events coordinates all University and Museum events and Dining Services (Aramark) is the exclusive caterer.  For more information about Conference and Events call 989-964-4348.

Other Services
Audio/Visual services, event decor, transportation, and entertainment must be coordinated through University Conference and Events at 989-964-4348.
