RSO Event

Students for Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum teamed up with Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honorary Society, to host a program on el Dia de los Muertos.  We had seventy people in attendance.  Ashley Collings, president of the Sigma Delta Pi, gave a presentation on the origin of the holiday and some of the traditions.  She also provided pictures of alters and explanations of some of the items, such as the skulls and flowers.
There were two projects that students could create, a skull and a flower.  Students enjoyed the creativity of the projects while listening to contemporary Spanish music. Chips and salsa were also provided. Many professors from the Spanish department also participated in the celebration.
